When we were give the task to recreate the busted video for “What I go to school for” everyone was put a bit out of their comfort zone, as none of us wanted to be main characters or take a lead role. However after talking amongst ourselves on how we would approach the video, I decided to put myself forward for the role of “Charlie” one of the main roles.
When filming the video I think that we recreated it very well, and got most of the shots and props perfect, I think out time management skills were extremely bad however going nearly 2 weeks over the time we were meant to have and this let us down. Therefore in the real project I think time management will be a key area to focus on.
However, I think that the end product we created was extremely good and accurate compared with the original, there are obvious differences in settings and characters, but the camera shots used and the general scenes are near exact. I think that we could have done it better, if we had used our time more wisely and planned ahead with better props and clothing, but what we did was still good.
I think my contribution to the music video was great compared to others as I put myself forward for the lead role where some of the drama students said they would not do it. I also brought in some minor props for the main characters. Therefore I think my contribution was rather fair. I could have gotten more involved in the editing side of the project, but another pupil specifically wanted to do it.
The availability of the final video is extremely easy to find, the video is on my YouTube profile (sneakada1) and Josh Currans account and can easily be searched for. The final video is shown below:
